Important Note!

This is always step one for a compliance plan when utilizing Accountable's process; Policy Review!

Listed below are the same steps as above, but in list form to provide a different point-of-view regarding how you address this policy portion of your Compliance Plan with Accountable.

Policies and Procedures

  • To use Accountable's templated policies, please look to your left-hand side for a menu item labeled 'Compliance'. Click on 'Compliance' and in the dropdown which shows, select 'Policies and Procedures'.

  • To view all the templated policies available to you, please click 'View Template Library' towards the top of the screen (Picture below).

  • You can make edits to the policies in a markdown screen so they are customized for your organization, editable live and further useful by allowing you to type directly into the document.

  • When done working for the day, if you are not yet ready for everyone to review the policy, be sure to hit 'Save as Draft'. This will ensure your edits are saved for the next time you wish to work on them. Only Privacy Officers in Accountable will be able to see these documents when they are in this status.

  • When your Organization is satisfied with the language of the policy text, you would hit 'Publish'.

    Further Important Things to Know

  • There is a final confirmation pop up before publishing that allows you to add a smart tag, provide a comment on the email which is sent to the user about the publication of this policy, and, last, you will see the option to sending notification to the employee about the publication of this policy.

  • Note: Each policy is defaulted in a way where the check box is on for sending a notification. If you do not want to send a notification for every time you publish a policy, simply fun! Check that box prior to publishing.

  • This permits employees with the status of user to attest to their understanding of these policies (training) directly from their dashboard.
